Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you use KnowVest we may collect:

  • Your email address (when you create an account or request a recap email)
  • Property address and financial inputs you enter into the analysis tool
  • Subscription status (managed by Stripe — we never see your card number)
  • A hashed IP address for abuse prevention (sha256, not raw IP)
  • Usage events (analyses run, advisor runs, look-ups) for quota enforcement and product analytics
  • Product-analytics events — which pages you visit and features you use — via privacy-first, cookieless analytics
  • Feedback you submit through the in-app form: your message, an optional email, the page you sent it from, and your browser type (user-agent)
  • If you arrive from one of our ads, limited conversion events (for example, that you signed up or subscribed) shared with the ad platform to measure that ad — never your financial inputs, property addresses, or analysis data
  • How you found us — the ad or referral source tied to your signup (e.g. a campaign tag in the link you clicked), kept in our own records for attribution. We don’t sell it.

What we never collect

  • Social Security number or any government ID
  • Bank account, routing, or wire details
  • Credit card data (Stripe handles all payments end-to-end)
  • Precise geolocation or GPS data
  • Browser fingerprint data — KnowVest does not fingerprint you (how our Reddit ad pixel works is covered under “Analytics, advertising & cookies”)

How we use your data

We use your data to: provide the analysis tool, send recap emails you explicitly request, manage your subscription, and measure product usage. We do not sell your personal information. To measure our advertising, we share limited conversion events with our ad platform — see “Analytics, advertising & cookies” below.

Data retention

Saved analyses are retained until you delete your account. Usage and lead records (email captures) are retained while your account is active and may be kept after closure for analytics and abuse prevention. You may delete your account at any time from the account page, which removes your saved analyses and usage history.

Third parties

We share data with: Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), OpenAI (AI advisor), RentCast (property data), Firecrawl (listing data — receives the property address you analyze), Google Maps (address and Street View), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (privacy-first, cookieless product analytics), Sentry (error monitoring, with personal-data collection turned off), and Reddit (advertising-conversion measurement via the Reddit pixel — receives ad-conversion events such as a sign-up or subscription, never your financial inputs or property data). Each operates under their own privacy policy, and we share only what each needs to perform its function.

Analytics, advertising & cookies

For product analytics we use privacy-first tools that don’t track you across the web. PostHog stores a small identifier in your browser’s local storage (not a tracking cookie) and runs cookieless, with session recording off and Do-Not-Track respected. Sentry monitors errors with personal-data collection disabled.

To measure our advertising, we use the Reddit Ads pixel. When you visit KnowVest it may set cookies and report conversion events to Reddit — for example, that you created an account or subscribed — so we can tell whether a Reddit ad worked. The pixel never receives your financial inputs, property addresses, or analysis data. We honor the Global Privacy Control (“do not share”) browser signal: when your browser sends it, we do not load the advertising pixel at all. We do not sell your personal information.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. Deleting your account from the account page removes your saved analyses and usage history. If you’re a California resident, you can opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising: turn on the Global Privacy Control in your browser and we honor it automatically, or email us. To make any data request, email hello@knowvest.app and we’ll respond promptly.

Children

KnowVest is intended for adults making real-estate decisions and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
